At St Clements we carefully map out our coverage of the writing genres to build on previous learning. The writing is supported by a wide variety of quality texts to inspire and guide the children in writing to the highest standard. Grammar is taught to be applied within each piece of writing. Spellings are taught discretely following a scheme, which ensures understanding of the patterns and rules, as well as the opportunity to learn high frequency irregular words.
